Brother Colbert, a Washington, DC native, was initiated into the Fraternity on October 14th 1971 at Chi Sigma Chapter Indiana State University, Terre Haute, Indiana. After transferring to Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland (Pi Chapter), he completed both his B.S. in Business Administration and MBA in Accounting at Morgan. Art also holds a certificate in Project Management from George Washington University.

Brother Colbert is a business transformation financial consultant with IBM. His current assignment supports the Department of Navy (DON) in the Financial Management Office (FMO) where he is part of a Financial Improvement Program (FIP) team responsible for the assertion of financial statements in preparation for external audits. He has worked on the assertion of Cash and Other Monetary Assets line item, documenting business process memos, risk analysis and flowcharts working with the Fleet Forces Command and the Marine Corps. Art leads a Financial Transaction Team under the FIP preparing documentation of major DON business segments such as Budget to Authorize, Plan to Perform, and Plan to Pay. The documentation of DON business segments incorporates Business Enterprise Architecture methodology which is part of key milestone plan deliverables to the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense.

Prior to his affiliation with IBM, Brother Colbert held consulting assignments with the K-Force/Bradson, National Institutes of Health, Webley Systems and DMR Consulting. Art retired from AT&T in 1998 where he held a variety of financial management positions including Deputy Program Manager-Government Markets, Journals Manager- Billing Operations, Senior Internal Auditor-Internal Auditing and Manager-Financial Regulatory Matters.

Brother Colbert has been a chair or member of numerous committees on the local chapter and district levels of the Fraternity. He has held officer positions in local chapters such as Dean of Pledgees (Chi Sigma and Pi), Assistant Keeper of Records and Seal (Mu Omega), Keeper of Finance (Mu Nu and Tau Pi), Vice Basileus (Tau Pi) and Basileus (Tau Pi). Brother Colbert was honored as Tau Pi Chapter’s Omega Man of the Year in 2006. On the District level, Art has been a member of the Audit and Site Selection Committees over the years. As a thirty-seven year member of the Fraternity, Brother Colbert continues to serve Omega with verve and holds life membership status. He attends St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church in Silver Spring, MD and is the proud father of a daughter, Stephanie, who is a senior at the University of Miami.
