HomeFeature Page - Bro. Mathew Knowles
Brother Mathew Knowles Brother Mathew Knowles (born in 1951) is an American music executive and manager from Etowah County, Alabama. He is the father and manager of pop stars Beyoncé Knowles and her sister Solange Knowles, and is best known as the manager of his daughters and of the female Pop/R&B girl group Destiny's Child. He is married to Tina Knowles.

Brother Knowles is an alumnus of Fisk University in Nashville, Tennessee, and he is also a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. He founded and operates the Music World Entertainment (http://www.musicworldent.com/) record label imprint, which has released music by artists including Destiny's Child, Beyoncé Knowles, Michelle Williams, Kelly Rowland, and Solange Knowles. He and his family are members of St. John's Methodist Church, Houston, Texas.

Formerly a salesman at Xerox, Knowles gave up his career in sales in the early 1990s to manage Beyoncé's singing group, then called Girl's Tyme. Knowles has remained the manager of Destiny's Child and the individual members of the group, and was the legal guardian of Destiny's Child member Kelly Rowland. His record label Music World Entertainment (which was, from 2003 to 2006, renamed Sanctuary Urban Records Group), is currently the home of artists such as Jon B., De La Soul, Earth, Wind & Fire, Kool & the Gang, The O'Jays, and Glenn Lewis. Greg Knight from GK Management recalls that Knowles joined the United Kingdom-based Sanctuary label as an executive in 2003, when Sanctuary purchased his urban music company in America. However, this move proved disastrous when records by such acts as D12's Bizarre, Ray J, and De La Soul were delayed, and the main company headed towards collapse.

After restructuring the main company in 2006, it was decided no more records would be released by the American urban division, whilst in July of that year Sanctuary came to the agreement that it would sell the Music World Entertainment Productions and Management talent agency back to Knowles.

Brother Mathew Knowles will be working on his next girl band “From Above,” the girls are from England. One of the members, Daisy, was an original member of the British group “S Club 8”, which features 8 members from ages 12-14. The group had a number of top 10 hits, 2 albums, and TV shows. Ashley and Chelsey were on a British dancing and singing competition called DanceX. Monique toured with Kanye West as a dancer and Seyi is a singer/songwriter who has written songs for many singers. They will be moving to Texas in 2008. Also a reality show is planned for the girls this year (2008).
