HomeBro. Anthony McIntyre

Bro. Anthony A. McIntyreBro. Anthony A. McIntyre hails from the city that never sleeps, Brooklyn, New York, where he was born 2 minutes after his twin brother, Andre, to his parents Kenneth & Bernice, on September 7, 1968.  He & his brother, first generation native Americans, are the offspring of their native Trinidadian parents, who immigrated to the U.S. in 1967.  His somewhat strict West Indian upbringing was the disciplined environment that helped cultivate the skill set & intelligence necessary to attend the nationally renowned Brooklyn Technical High School (39th best in the country!), from 1982 – 1986, where he was first introduced to computers & football.  He was a scholar athlete there, playing as a 2 – way starter & the team captain in his senior year. He later attended the Pennsylvania State University from 1986 – 1991, where he continued his computer programming studies.  Due to a lack of guidance & insight his football career never reached its potential.  After playing spring ball in 1988 he turned his full attention to his studies and the African American experience at PSU.  It was during that time, in the spring of 1989, that he realized the dream he had since his senior high school year.  Through perseverance he was he was chosen to be one of eight to be thoroughly immersed in the true Omega spirit & initiated into the Illustrious Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc.  With his 7 line brothers (Tyrone Lacy, Travoye McCray, Stanley Croughter, James Worthy, Deryk Gilmore, Ivory Gethers & Robert Cooke), he crossed the Burning Sands via the historic Nu chapter (the 1st African American organization established in 1921 @ PSU).  As an Omega, he served as Vice Basileus at Nu chapter (1990 - 1991) & Epsilon chapter (NYC – 1992 - 1994).  As an Omega he focused his efforts on mentoring & developing relevant programming.  He later became a charter member of the Iota Lambda Lambda graduate chapter, founded in State College, PA, to better accommodate the always present immigrant graduate brothers pursuing degrees at PSU.  He has also served as the president of the Nu Alumni Association since its inception in 2006.  Most recently, he accepted the position of chairman of the Resource & Services committee of the Omega Psi Phi’s 2nd district (NY, NJ, PA, DE, and MD) & is currently working to help build the resources of the district.  In addition to an education, Anthony met his future wife, Nicole Bailey, at PSU.  They married in 1996, during NYC's Legendary Omega Weekend, and together they produced 3 beautiful children, Myles Jordan, Maya Bailey & Marcus Quincy.

Bro. McIntyre has also enjoyed an equally rich business career since the completion of his Penn State studies.  He first returned to NYC & started working for the software company Information Builders Inc. where he was initiated into the world of corporate computer consulting, working in the technical support department.  The following 16 years saw Anthony’s career develop via stints with Kidder Peabody (NYC), Keystone Mercy Health Plan (Phila., PA), the Re Systems Group (NYC/NJ) & the Vitamin Shoppe (NJ).  His experience developed an expertise as a senior programmer / analyst with multi-value operating systems / applications.  Eventually, he formed his own company, McIntyre Professional Services LLc, & started consulting, independently, for companies throughout NY, NJ & PA.  He eventually returned to Philadelphia for a contract with Ace Insurance, in 2003.  In 2005 his natural acumen, business development, was solicited by another Man of Omega, to help build the local presence of the Baltimore, MD based real estate finance company, Madison Funding Inc., in their newly opened Philadelphia branch office.  This association led to significant exposure within the residential & commercial real estate industry.  As such, he now boasts a list of highly qualified clients, of all sizes & scopes, primarily in the commercial real estate industry.  His business successes have identified him to other organizational leaders & he now is also the Director of Business Development for Philadelphia’s premiere urban professional web – based community, UrbanPhilly.com & UPPN (www.UrbanPhilly.com).

Bro. McIntyre’s primary goal is to help build a national coalition of urban professionals that can mutually benefit from collaborative efforts.  He believes that there are many lucrative opportunities that abound (especially in the Delaware Valley / Phila. Tri - State), as well as tremendous value in sharing pooled information and resources.  Those resources are the precious gems that are used to benefit all that surround him, especially the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity!
